Sweet’s Elderberry turns five years old this March, and we're marking the occasion with our annual Sweetsgiving celebration - a time for Sweet's and our loyal customers to give the gift of good health to others in the community!

Thousands of patients with blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma, sickle cell anemia, or other life-threatening diseases depend on the Be The Match Registry to find a blood or marrow donation that can save their life. Patients need donors who are a very close genetic match. Even with a registry of millions, many patients cannot find a match. This cause is dear to Sweet's owner Stephanie Rickenbaker because her husband Ed was diagnosed with a treatable form of leukemia just weeks after their marriage.
This year, Sweet’s is teaming with Be The Match (formerly the National Marrow Donor Program, or NMDP), for a virtual marrow registry drive from March 4-18, with the goal of expanding the size and racial diversity of the donor base.
Simply request a swab kit online. Once you receive it, follow the directions and mail back the kit! If selected as a match for a waiting patient, you may be asked to give either peripheral blood cells through a very simple blood donation or to donate bone marrow. There is no financial cost to the donor for any further testing that may be needed or for the donation itself. About one in every 430 people who register will go on to donate.
