The hot toddy has been a cold-weather favorite since the 1600s, and always includes hot water, spices, sugar or honey, and liquor. This new take on an old classic features the warming spices and seasonal immune support of Sweet’s Elderberry Syrup along with a non-alcoholic suggestion if you'd like to make it a mocktail!
ELDERBERRY HOT TODDY
Ingredients (per serving):
- Boiling water
- 1-2 tsp brown sugar
- ¼ - ½ oz lemon juice
- ½ - 1 oz Sweet's Syrup
- 2 oz bourbon (non-alcoholic swap: Spiritless Kentucky 74)
- Lemon wheel studded with whole cloves
Instructions:
- Add brown sugar and lemon juice to an empty mug.
- Pour in the boiling water and stir until sugar dissolves.
- Add the remaining ingredients and stir again.
- Garnish with lemon wheel and serve!
